Ember splashing in the backyard pool with friends.
It's gradually warming up around here...but sometimes the wind makes it feel a little chilly. Here they are sitting by the dryer vent drinking hot chocolate after getting out of the pool to warm up. Rem asked me if we could plug in a heater outside. 
Brooklyn didn't stay in the pool too long. Instead she let me capture some photos of her laying on the grass. This one is my favorite :)
About a week ago, Ember and her friends decided to get all glamorous and dress up their little sisters and do a parade for their dads for Father's Day. They had big plans and spent the day decorating their bikes and making gifts running in and out of the house to decorate and plan some more. I helped them make Kool Aid and popcorn bags for their dads. When Ember's friends parents came over for the "Grand Event" they sat and watched with us as the girls raced around our driveway to loud music. They were too cute. I'm sure that someday they will look back and laugh about it. What imaginations these kids have.

This last Friday...since the boys were gone for the day, us girls decided to go to the park on the river and fly kites. It's the perfect wide open space and of course there is always plenty of wind.
Brooklyn was pretty excited to see her kite so high in the sky.
Ember eventually mastered the trick of getting it in the air!
After a walk along the river bike path, we went over to Gossner's for yummy ice cream cones. The girls opted for Cotton Candy..but me, I'm a mint chocoholic so of course I just had to get Grasshopper and well...who can pass up Huckleberry? Not me...so I had a little of that too. I think we need to have more afternoons of kite flying and ice cream cones!
