Today we got our first skiff of snow. I guess that was the spark I needed to get the sewing flame going. I've had some projects I've been mulling around in my head for a while now, so today seemed the perfect time to get to work and bring those to fruition.
While visiting my in-laws this past weekend I got the idea to re-create a yummy, smelling scented hot pad that was sitting on their table. The pockets are filled with rice and spices so when it warms up it puts off a delightful aroma. These will make a nice gift for a neighbor or friend and can be used all year round. Yea!
Next on my list, is a fun little cuddly tag blanket. Before I had Brooki, I never knew how important tags were. I was sure she must have picked up that gene from my husbands side of the family since she has many fellow relations who love the tags on their blankies almost as much as the blanket. Crazy. So, when a friend from church showed me one her daughter made, I was all about the idea. I guess tag lovers must not only run in the family but are a natural need of the baby species...or is it genus. (Oh well, I'm sure my biology teacher has better things to do than read this blog.) The pattern is so simple and if you Google it you can find lots of ideas online. Gratefully, I happen to have this awesome book my mom gave me and it had a pattern as well.
I better put them away! Quick!

I love your previous post. You are a great writer with how you describe things, you are so very talented in many ways.
I don't quite understand how people like tags because i cut them off if I see them. I personally do not like them especially on towels. But i have known quite a few kids that LOVE tags, so interesting. I love all your little projects! Thanks for sharing :)
Love your projects Marci and have NO IDEA how you get them all done! I love those bags. We have little corn bags, but I'm not loving my bed smelling like popcorn, so the rice and spices is a great idea. And the sections to keep the heat distributed is awesome. I don't even know how to sew, if there were more weeks in the year I'd have you teach me:-) Now that would be fun!
